Tour-DESCRIPTIONS (in
SHORT):
“Panoramic Route“
(1.1)
The scenic landscape
between El Seibo and
Miches offers fantastic
and panoramic view
points, it’s the only
Panoramic - Route
in the East. Our
Mirador „Vista del Valle“
is only one in a chain
of several more Miradors.
We recommend to make
this Tour (per Minibus
or Motorbike) as first
excursion, its
easy-going and
immediately gives you
the best impression of
what is expecting you
here and what type of
activities are possible
during your vacation.
“Visit of a Cacao-Farm”
(1.2)
We recommend to visit a
Cacao farm (The Creole),
to learn about the raw
material for the
production of fine
chocolate, and taste the
locally made drink
chocolate. Beside the
cattle farming and milk
production, the cacao
harvest forms an
important income for the
local poor farmers.
Beside the cacao plants,
you also learn about the
many other local
products: Mango, Oranges
and many other fresh
fruits, Niame, Yucca,
Platanos (Eat bananas),
Coffee and Guineas
(sweet bananas), just to
mention some.
“Visit
of a village School“
(1.3)
If
you are not only
interested in our
beautiful Nature, but
also want to learn about
the daily life of the
local peoples, a visit
of our village school is
recommended - the
children thereby will
also have a teaching
contact with the
tourists, (for example,
an Irish guitarist was
playing and singing his
own folkloric songs, but
very fast also learned
to play the local
Bachata music…) Our
visitors from all over
the world thus mean a
vivid cultural exchange
for the villagers, now
possible in the time of
globalisation….
“ Balneario Ecoturistico
or
Refreshment at the
Riverside
” (1.4)
If
you like sprinkling
crystal-clear waters,
you may walk with us to
our nearby "Balneario
Ecotouristico", which is
nothing else than a
favored place at the
riverside, where foreign
visitors and the local
villagers alike (but
mostly the kids) take a
playful and refreshing
bath..
“Tour to the Big
Waterfall “ (1.5)
The crown of our tours
in the vicinity of Pedro
Sanchez is the tour to
the "Big Waterfall" or
“Salto grande”, which
means climbing up the
mountain like a goat,
before reaching there.
But once arriving there
(after approx. 3 hrs),
you will agree: it was
really worth doing it.
Pure nature at its best.
The first part means
crossing rural pasture
uphill, the second part
is more difficult, the
third part is really
adventurous. Well, but
this is an adventurous
Eco-tour, if you are not
challenged by such, you
are better spending a
lazy vacation day on the
Beach of Miches or in
our beautiful garden.
“ Tour to the Waterfall "Marlboro",
by Hiking (1.6)
or Horseriding
(1.7)
Another way
to spend a full day in
nature, is an excursion
to
the
long-stretched waterfall
Marlboro, which is
well visible from the
road (at km 6), but can
be reached only by foot
or on horseback, since
there is no path yet to
reach there. Local
Guides accompany us, and
the horses we rent from
local owners, we
ourselves don't run a
stable, since we want
that everybody in the
small community can
participate and benefit
from our tours that we
organize.
“Tour to the Cave LA CHIVA
(1.8)
or to the Cave
PEPE (1.9)
A
cave tour
in the neighborhood of
Pedro Sanchez is
challenging. The two big
caves
LA CHIVA
and PEPE are almost
200 yards
deep, but accessible
only from the top of a
mountain crest: that
means hiking up the
mountain on a small goat
path, until you reach
the top of the mountain
(la loma) – where you
can enjoy a marvelous
panoramic view! - and
then you can discover
what is yet invisible,
deep down under your
feet ! We are always
around, to navigate you,
to help you up and down
again, and provide you
with all the information
you want to have, we
interpret the
environment and - last
not least - we always
look after you and your
well-being and safety!
Tour
“Ruta
de Chocolate“
(1.10)
Our region represents
more than half of the
total high-quality
Dominican cacao, and
therefore of course we
have a „
Chocolate Route“ to
visit. There you can
learn about how cacao is
planted and grown, the
different stages of
its life until it
is harvested, dried and
fermented. You can also
learn about the
transformation into
different derived
products and chocolate
making, taste a
chocolate marmalade or
chocolate wine, and
spend a quite
interesting day
outdoors.
“
A day at the Beach”
, in nearby
Miches (1.11)
The beaches of Miches
are beautiful endless
dream beaches,
not yet crowded
and less known than the
beaches of Bavaro and
Punta Cana, and they are
all still virgin and
untouched. On the way to
Miches and back,
crossing the Cordillera
Oriental, you can enjoy
some scenic and
panoramic views over the
coast line and the
mountains.
“Hiking to Majagua” (1.12)
is nothing else than
simply walking from the
village of Pedro Sanchez
to a nearby small
settlement called
Majagua. Visiting a
typical skyblue "Ranchito"
there you get the
feeling of how idyllic
and simple the local
peoples are living here,
and after having a
refreshment, we return
to the Mirador "Vista
del Valle".
“
Tour to the Lagoon Limon
” (1.13)
If you want to leave the
mountains and valleys
behind for a day and
smell the Atlantic Sea
and Mangroves, there is
yet another interesting
and exciting target in a
special scientific
reserve, protected since
1983. Such tour gives
you another interesting
learning experience to
discover the eco-system
and biological diversity
of "Laguna Limon "
and its bird-, crab- and
fish population.
“ Wale Watching -Tour”
(1.14)
On request, however
during January and March
each year only, we offer
an exciting day
excursion on the blue
waters of the Atlantic
Ocean, leaving
Miches on a safe
catamaran into the bay
of
Samana. These whale
watching tours are a
worldwide known
activity, since where
else you can observe
these giant animals
mating. |
